Cultural Traditions involving Marriage

Marriage Permissibility

Q: Is a second marriage allowed in Mahdaviyath? Can a man marry a second time without the permission of his first wife or any legitimate reason?

Answer: Mahdaviath is not different than Islam. Second marriage is allowed in Mahdaviath as it is in Islam. Yes, a man can marry a second time and doesn't need permission from his first wife. He can marry if he has the capacity (Istata'at).

فَانكِحوا ما طابَ لَكُم مِنَ النِّساءِ مَثنىٰ وَثُلاثَ وَرُباعَ ۖ فَإِن خِفتُم أَلّا تَعدِلوا فَواحِدَةً

Then marry the women that seem good to you: two, or three, or four. If you fear that you will not be able to treat them justly, then marry (only) one (4: 3)

Allah (SWT) knows best.
