Q: Can you elaborate on the fiqh regarding hand slaughter versus machine slaughter? Is machine slaughter permissible, or is it considered haram?

Answer:  For the animal to be permissible, these are the conditions: 1. The person cutting should be a sane Muslim.

2. The person must recite "Bismillahi Allahu Akbar" while cutting.

3. The person must cut the blood veins, food, and breathing pipes.

A machine-cut process can't fulfill the above conditions. Hence, it's not permissible.

Q: What is Niyaz? Why & How is it done?

Answer: Niyaz is called Nazar in Arabic. It is mentioned in the Holy Quran.

وَمَآ أَنفَقْتُم مِّن نَّفَقَةٍ أَوْ نَذَرْتُم مِّن نَّذْرٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُهُۥ ۗ وَمَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ

Whatever charities you give or vows you make are indeed known to Allah. And the wrongdoers will have no helpers. (2:270)

يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًۭا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًۭا . وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًۭا وَيَتِيمًۭا وَأَسِيرًا

They ˹are those who˺ fulfil ˹their˺ vows and fear a Day of sweeping horror, and give food—despite their desire for it—to the poor, the orphan, and the captive (76:7-8)

Q: Can Sadqa money be given at restaurants, barbershops, salons etc as a tip? Answer: No, Sadqa money cannot be given as a tip.

Q: Many people from our community have started saying "Jummah Mubarak", is this correct? Please explain. Answer: There is no recorded evidence or authentic narration that suggests Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) or his Sahaba (companions) used the specific phrase "Jummah Mubarak" to greet each other every Friday. Similarly, there is no evidence that Mehdi (AHS) or his Sahba used to say it. Saying "Jummah Mubarak" is neither prohibited nor mandatory. It may be said, but it shouldn't be made mandatory or a practice. Allah (SWT) Knows Best.

Q: If eating food on which names besides Allah (Ghair-Allah) has been taken is Haraam, then is eating the food of Niyaz or Urs also haraam?

Answer:  We take the name of Allah (SWT) only, and then we ask Allah (SWT) to give the sawab of this Rizq (Isaal-e-Swab) to the person(s) whose Urs is getting performed.
